Do inflatable plugs fit different pipes?

If I had a dollar for every time someone asked me: ‘do inflatable plugs work for different size pipes?’ I’d be a rich man. Though I have definitely saved people heaps of money along the way!

The answer, by the way, is ‘yes’.

In most cases inflatable plugs (also called pneumatic pipe plugs) can double their deflated size or more. Like, take for example: if you have a 150mm plug it will work on 300mm pipes. Or if you have a 800mm plug it can work on 1600mm pipes.

That’s not set in stone. But it does give you an idea of how versatile inflatable plugs are.
When you’re dealing with pipes of all shapes and sizes, as most companies will be, that makes them a very handy piece of kit. Inflatable plugs are as close to a ‘one-fits-all solution’ as you’re ever going to find, and they’re your secret weapon for making jobs safer, quicker, easier, and way more cost-efficient.
