Sharing BurrowTech’s sealing cushion knowledge
Dutton Stormwater employs over 40 staff across their Auckland and Christchurch offices. Their maintenance skills and expertise are trusted by some of New Zealand’s biggest companies and councils including Healthy Waters – Auckland Council, Gull NZ, Metlifecare, Auckland Airport, Ryman Healthcare, Property for Industry and Citycare Property.
Many residential clients also rely on the company for the regular maintenance of their stormwater management.
Michelle Buckingham, Operations Manager, says training, and keeping up with new products, is critical to the company’s success.
They recently welcomed Hayden, from the BurrowTech team, for a three-hour training session on their newly acquired 1200mm Lampe sealing cushion. (Destined for tasks including cleaning out stormwater treatment devices, the sealing cushion fits through 600mm manholes and can seal a 1200mm pipe.)
Michelle says the session, which was also videoed to help with writing an SOP, to add to the product manual, was invaluable to the company.
“Hayden went through the key points. We also had a questions and answers session with him, then went into greater depth – brainstorming our team’s approach to using the sealing cushion for projects which were “more site specific”.
“It was a chance for us to learn how, and where, to best use the sealing cushion.”
Michelle said the training was very engaging and helpful. “It makes a difference when there’s someone demonstrating the product face to face.” She says the company has used the same approach with other specialist equipment.
