New from IMS: the MULTIdrum 700 inversion drum

A mobile inversion drum built for site work

The MULTIdrum 700 is the new mobile inversion drum from IMS Robotics, and it is now available from BurrowTech.

It installs CIPP liners in pipes from DN 100 to DN 300, and it was designed with input from people who run inversion jobs for a living.

Easy to move, quick to set up

The drum is powder-coated aluminium and weighs 60.5 kg. Large wheels handle uneven ground, and two handles make it easier to lift where wheels will not go.

Setup is tool-free, so the crew spends its time on the liner, not the equipment.

Set it to suit the access point

The tilt adjusts steplessly, all the way to vertical inversion, so the drum can be lined up with the pit, chamber or access point in front of it.

Adjustable liner guides keep the liner winding on evenly across different pipe diameters. The 700 mm drum holds approximately 40 m of liner at 4.5 mm thickness, depending on the liner manufacturer.

Sight glasses on the drum and a viewing window give the operator a clear view of the liner as it goes in, so the inversion can be watched and controlled from start to finish.

One drum, four curing methods

Water and steam connections are fitted, so the MULTIdrum 700 works with hot water, steam, UV light and ambient curing.

It has already been on the job in New Zealand with McMaster Civil, running alongside the ProCure LED curing system.
